Riding Bitch: Thesis

To ‘ride bitch’ means to sit in the middle seat or passenger on a motorcycle which is the most uncomfortable seat. It also means to act subordinate. I explored toxic masculinity in two different subcultures that put women second: motorcycle club subcultures and traditional workplace subcultures. I used the symbols, shapes, and materials behind both subcultures when creating these looks. The collection ‘Riding Bitch’ flips the toxic masculinity of these two subcultures to put the feminine women in the dominant role and the singular male look into the submissive.
